As we all know, this has been one of the worst flood on the past 50 years. No other flood can compare to this. Even I, the author of this current blog post is affected by the flood. I had to stay in my dad's office typing up this blog after finding out that I had to do this. So I was supposed to talk about new ideas to invent for fun or needed during this current crisis. Well one there is no electricity. Why? Because they had to shut it down in order to prevent injures with electro-shocks. But one idea for past time would be take any floating bottles from the flood (first you have to clean it if you have running water) then try to make a small boat out of it and put it in the flood with your friend's boat, too. You can also use those bottle boats to see who will be the last one to sink. One thing that you should never do in this type of flood is play in the water or GO into the water. Trash may be floating under the flood like sharp glass shards from beer bottles. Those can inflict with a wound then plus the unsanitary water infecting the wound. So also wear your shoes when walking in the flood if you have too. Look into the water too and look out for glass shards. But back to the main topic, you can also try with some people make a bridge with some unused supply like wood and some water tanks. I seen some really neat one plank wooden bridge supported by some water tanks. Now onto the needed for the flood. Before you ever leave your house to go to a evacution camp or anything you might need these following items. Believe me, you will need them:
-2-3 water bottles
-Your phone + your phone charger (you may want to tell your relatives or friend about your current status
-Any kind protective bag to put your phone inside
-Any kind of portable game system (has to be small like a psp) in case you have nothing to do
-4-5 days worth of clothing
-1-2 books
-Atleast some rations
-Money
and....
-whatever that is extremely valuable to you; leavin at your flooded home may let it vurnable to theft.
Never bring more than 3 bags with you. This will cause an overload and your more likely to fall right into the flood because of the weight. Don't think that your strong and think you can carry than much because the flood also slows down your movement. Bring what is only required. Not your prized knick-knack collection. That is useless for your survival

Hey Kamo, your blog taught me a lot of things about evacuating. I really like your idea of your blog, because this is the first blog I've read that teaches you how to evacuate. The details you gave are really nice, however too much words may make a reader feel tired. So let me teach you a trick on how to still keep what you want but makes the readers feel comfortable while reading. First, you can edit your blog into sections or paragraphs. Second, you can make the font bigger. Third, add a picture or maybe a comic that relates to the topic. Overall, your blog is fine and teaches the readers a lot.
ReplyDeleteKamo, You do have a valuable perspective to share because you have been directly affected by the floods. I agree with Kelly in that you have a lot of information in the blog; details are strong, but they could be even more effective with some focused organization.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that providing the items you mention to people at evacuation centers would be useful? I'm wondering what kinds of specific personal belongings you either wish you brought with you, or did bring and are thankful? Thanks for sharing your experience!
Kamo, your blog post was very descriptive and interesting to read. There was a lot of information that were very useful to me. You also gave instructions on how to make a bottle boat, and I think it would be fun to make one! Honestly, I really like the fact that you made a list on 'what you'll need'. In some parts, you have a little bit of grammatical errors. But apart from that, your blog was fun to read and it was very helpful as well!
