Courage; From ember to blazing flames

Courage starts out something small like a ember. Then in life as you stand up for someone or something, that ember grows and grows. Yes, courage can develop in life but only by your actions. You cannot except courage to be develop if you aren't doing anything. There are many times of courage, for example, social courage, mental courage, physical courage, intellectual courage, moral courage, and emotional courage. Courage can be developed by showing action in each category. An ember starts small like one single act of courage, shy and scared. If you show courage once and doesn't show it again, its like dousing the ember. But if you keep showing more and more courage, its like give that small ember, wood. You want it to develop into something else. With more and more acts of courage, that small ember will soon be developed into blazing flames shining in the night. Yet, you cannot just leave it alone. You might have a blazing fire inside but every fire will be doused without any attention. Its like a forest fire, forest fire doesn't last throughout the ages. They die slowly. I recently saw on the news a really old man who had polio. He was on Channel 3 Thai News yesterday. When he was a child, he didn't have polio but when his parent found out that he did, his parent threw him away. He has shown great acts of physical courage and social courage. He needs a stick to walk and he couldn't talk for polio paralyzed him. So he has a translator. But still he tried to speak and he doesn't care what others thought of him. That shows great act of physical courage (needing a stick to walk) and social courage (trying to speak even though he can't). Yet, in his paralyzed state, he has donated 1 million baht to a temple. He asks for money when he can and others feel sad for him. I think this man should deserve some respect. So at the end, courage is everywhere, but you don't really notice it. Others do.

  1. Very descriptive post Kamo, good job! I like how you compare courage to ember growing into blazing flames. You were very descriptive in the comparison, and how that ember can grow because of our actions. In the end, you also connected this blog with the news. This blog is very organized and flows smoothly. You've also show some good word choices, like dousing. Great blog!!
